The senses are the foundation of all co-ordinated movement!18 months - 4 years, 1 Player Develops: Reasoning Problem solving Tactile discrimination Number concept Eye hand Co-ordination Laterality Contents: 12 piece puzzle Feelie board Manual: How to develop your child’s skills through play. Our hands are our first tools. They bring our world to life. The feel of different textures create calming or stimulating sensory responses in us. Finger fuzzle gives your child a helping hand up the stairway of learning, as the sensory system is the basis to all co-ordinated movement. Develops: Reasoning Giving thought to the size and shape of the fingers and the sequence of the numbers, in order to insert the correct finger in the correct place, stimulates the child's ability to reason. Problem solving Finding the solution to the puzzle challenge involves trial and error with eventual understanding of number sequence and size distinctions. Solving problems boosts the child's self esteem. Tactile discrimination The sensory system is the architect for brain function. It draws up a picture of the environment that the body aims to master. This guides the brain’s co-ordination of gross (large) and fine motor (movement) skills. Number concept Number recognition, understanding number quantity, counting and the relationship between number symbol and quantity can all be developed in this developmental order. Laterality Distinguishing between the two sides to the body, left and right, can begin with Finger Fuzzle. It has a ‘feelie’ shape to the left of the left hand and to the right of the right hand. Placing their hands in the hands and feeling the textures to the left and to the right provides visual and tactile cues to the different sides of the body. Eye hand co-ordination Placing the puzzle pieces in the puzzle board requires the co-ordinated use of hand and eye. Language: Identifying objects on Finger Fuzzle such as fruit , shapes and numbers will aid your child’s understanding of words representing objects, and grow their vocabulary.
